  1. How is this a cover up, when the videos are immediately available on YouTube and elsewhere? The school is probably just trying to save bandwidth, which they have to pay for.

      The problem is that most of the public still gets their primary news from the mainstream networks. That’s something that folk like us have a bad habit of forgetting, especially if you’ve been getting source news online for the last 25 years, as I have. You cannot imagine how frustrating it is for me (I podcast as well as blog) to see the number of otherwise tech-friendly people who think that YouTube is still grainy home video or a podcast is crappy audio on a PC mic of some kid going on about their latest fan crush.

      On the other hand, you do raise a good question. Is a press cover up even possible anymore? My understanding is that the videos pulled – at least some of them are, I am certain – were YouTube video. The school isn’t paying for that bandwidth, it is paid for by advertising. The problem is, they don’t get that once it’s out there it is not going to go away no matter how hard they try.
