First, I do want to remind folks that The Conservative Lefty is not really a gun blog. However, it does seem there has been a lot of Second Amendment news and action of late that has an impact on conservative causes.
Take this one, for example:
U.S. Appeals Court Expands Gun Rights – WSJ.
This is really, really big. On a national level the gun rights advocates are clearly winning. We are not only winning in the legal front but also in the hearts and minds of the people as that Pew gun rights poll has shown.
Be warned, though! The gun control lobby is already shifting gears. Know that they are losing badly on the national front, they have shifted to a state-by-state attack. This kind of approach allows them to take advantage of their billionaire lined coffers. Where we may be able to meet them head on nationally, we are at a real disadvantage engaging in expensive state battles on multiple fronts. The Washington I-594 law was their test case for this.
So, if you value your Second Amendment rights, you need to keep vigilant. We don’t want to win the national argument only to lose state-by-state. Remember, too, that they fight in Washington state or Colorado or New Jersey is your fight as well even if your in Missouri or Texas.
